Mockingbird

Day 3 — Your parents

I'm sitting in the intimately lit corner of my study in what I currently call my house - in the house my parents so amazingly got for me - and the first thing I can think of saying is how grateful I am. I don't mean to be boastful, but when I look back on the kind of childhood and upbringing I've had over the past 18 years, I can't help but feel so extra lucky to have been given my parents.
Yeah, it's shit sometimes. You know, in that sadistic way that now as I'm approaching adulthood I realise I really can't blame them for anything. I'm being honest here, every downfall I face is completely on me. When I was younger I'd yell at them about how everything that went wrong to me was their fault, and would harass them about how much they nagged and how embarrassing they were. I was wrong. Sure, they were overbearing at times, but I was stubborn and conceited and should have just listened.
The beautiful thing is these days I feel they know I've realised that. And now it's just scary because they see me as a woman and they want me to be great, and I'm not quite sure if I know how to do that on my own.

You say your heart is on your sleeve

Those mornings you wake up and you just want to be absolutely everything and everyone you're simply not. Some people have figured out how to shake it off. Teach me. Please?

Day 2 - Your Crush.
I wouldn't quite say I have one right now...ya know. I have had so many over the years, lets be honest. Haha some of them I look back on now and I'm like fuaaaaaaaarkkkkk whyyyyyyyyyyyyy, LOL. I'm sure you can think back on a few that make you feel right back at home with your tweenybopper-self that did finger-to-cheek peace signs in all your selfies (*selca's *luvo's??)... let's all take a moment of silence to shake our heads and laugh at how fucking ridiculous we were
There is something I miss about crushes though. I think it was the way they were so idealistic and fairytale-like. I'm not bitter, (at least I think I'm not), but I had some pretty amazing relationships in my head as a kid. 50% of these people I had imaginary relationships with probably have no idea I had them thank God. I guess in summation real relationships are not quite like that naive dream we once had. They're better, no doubt - but there's something there I miss. I can't quite pin the expression of it down to something I can write about, but just take a moment (try not to feel guilty... shh, I won't tell)

think about the boy/girl that made you rehearse your lines of your science speech 20 times just so you wouldn't look like a dick; the person you thought of while you sat in class on valentines day when they were doing deliveries; the person you would talk to on msn for till midnight even though your parents thought you were a delinquent and would yell at you from downstairs..

That crush motivated you in life in some way or another. It might mean nothing now but at one point it may have just gotten you through the day. How weird and pointless is life I swear. Lols.
